Using Frontline Data to Move Beyond Compliance and Achieve Operational Excellence

Stakeholder expectation of operational performance is rising exponentially and as a result, Operational Risk Management is a board level priority for all companies across the Oil & Gas industry. The biggest operational risk occurs when People interact with the Plant. This Interaction is statistically shown as the leading cause of High Potential Incidents (HiPo’s), 2nd leading cause of fatalities and a significant contributing factor in process safety incidents. The reason for this is often cited as ‘Workforce Culture’ or the people problem, but is there a deeper underlying issue?

Industry efforts to address the issue often results in more rulebooks, best practices initiatives and more procedures but this does little to reduce the number of HiPo’s, incidents and fatalities. The continued focus on ‘lagging indicators’ and look back auditing methods are at the heart of the challenge.

In this webinar, Iain Mackay, Executive Vice President draws upon over 10 years of experience to explain how by closing the gap in the assurance loop in this critical area of operations; the Interaction of People with the Plant, your organisation can move from one of ‘Find and Fix’ to ‘Predict and Prevent’.

He will demonstrate how digital systems give access to valuable frontline operational data. This data can be used to not only close the assurance loop but to connect corporate policy to routine practice and gain a better understanding on the relationship between delivering performance and managing risk.
