Recent technology developments have opened new horizons for the port industry. Smart Ports or Smart Port Terminals refers to the application of digital technologies such as machine learning, data analytics and advanced wireless communications technologies to the port ecosystem. The convergence of operational technology (OT) and physical assets of ports with information and communications technologies (ICT) is driving innovations and automation that increase operational efficiency.
Communications technologies, particularly wireless, play a key role in the digital transformation of terminal operations. Private wireless networks are key to unlocking new productivity gains. The strongest candidates for wireless communications of the future all-digital terminal are the 3GPP mobile technologies, LTE and 5G.
This webinar will present a digital transformation fabric with communications technologies based on LTE and 5G as a key enabler in making Smart Ports and Smart Port Terminals a reality.
