Akiya Simms, a Resilience Planner at Hartsfield–Jackson Atlanta International Airport, offers a decade of strategic planning experience in Enterprise Sustainability and Risk Management for airport programs and projects, including the material formulation of contract risk and holistic systems analysis. Simms advises executive decisions on robust airport resilience, dimensions of sustainability, stakeholder interdependencies and existing building information models as critical to the optimal positioning of assets and other resources essential to airport master plans. Simms has undertaken various logistics-related responsibilities for Fortune 500 firms requiring expatriate government contract administration and the product life cycle analysis of global retail jewelry supply chains.

As Vice President of the Hitachi Vantara Transportation practice, Mario leverages his experience in IoT, data and analytics technologies to deliver results in highly complex industrial verticals. He works on a variety of critical transportation-related projects focused on Rail and Aviation. Most recently, Mario was Vice President, Chief Data and Analytics Officer at UTC. There, he led the expansion of data and analytics solutions to the UTC Aero business units globally. He joined UTC through the acquisition of his company, Predikto, Inc, which offered software and machine learning algorithms and models to predict failures in trains, planes, and large industrial equipment.
