Utilize 3D models in engineering, detailing and fabrication of all structures in EPC and Offshore projects.
Companies who specialize in engineering, detailing and fabrication of EPC and Offshore projects are facing tougher competition because of globalization of the market. This has lead to tighter design and fabrication schedules and urges to minimize the waste of material and optimize the resources during the whole project lifecycle.
Utilization of advanced software is one possibility to level the competition. This webinar demonstrates how global companies utilize 3D modeling software throughout the lifecycle of EPC and Offshore projects. The webinar covers the construction of an offshore platform all the way from conception to detailing, fabrication and yard assembly.
With Tekla software engineers and detailers can create accurate as-built 3D models that include exact quantities, and achieve error-free design and resource planning in every phase of the project.
Tekla's software is used around the world as it handles larger and more complex projects than any other solutions. A vast number of Oil & Gas companies rely on our technology to deliver their complex structural projects on time and with high quality. The advanced structural detailing and fabrication solution integrates with other leading software solutions for smooth real-time collaboration and information sharing between the project parties.

Firstly beginning his working life as a Welder / Fabricator then becoming a draftsman for a Steel Work Contractor, returning to University to study CAD/CAM systems after 10 years in that role. Shortly after graduating Mick began working for a 3D CAD CAM software solutions supplier for Structural Steel Industry. He worked on implementing the first 3D CAD and CNC systems in the UK, USA then worldwide.
Now Michael Hodgson has worked in the construction industry for over 25 years, and has had the opportunity to work in various roles, from Fabricator to Draftsman to 3D CAD CAM software solutions supplier. As Technical Manager for the Steel Segment in Tekla, he now draws on his vast experience to facilitate his work in numerous projects such as the Rayong Oil Refinery in Thailand, and London Heathrow Terminal 5, and is actively involved in the implementation of BIM technology in projects worldwide.
