  • Soft Capsules
  • Gelatin

Date: 26 November

Days to go: 42

Time: 3PM London/10AM New York

Introducing VersagelTM Platform

Vegetal soft capsules are made of gelatin substitutes, mainly modified vegetal polymers or synthetic film forming polymers. Despite its declared applications and benefits as alternatives for religious and ethnic markets, the diffusion of the technology has not been as expected due to factors such as the processing complexity, performance parameters such as dissolution, short holding times and batch to batch performance, among others. Besides that, in most cases the technology has been developed for oil-based capsules but for PEG based capsules is still on-going and has delayed somehow its introduction to pharma applications.

This webinar will address some fundamentals of gelatin substitutes and it is aimed at solving the most relevant questions regarding this technology. It will also show through a thoughtful case study, the differences compared to traditional soft gelatin capsules, the characterization of some commercial products and the results on accelerated stability, contributing with practical considerations for product development.

At the end of the presentation, Softigel by procaps will deliver you the key elements to evaluate the current status of the technology, its benefits and limitations, as well as applications and challenges for the industry; it will also give you a reference framework and some insights for product and process design criteria to take advantage of a still emerging, but powerful and versatile technology.

Join us during this webinar aimed to show a different perspective on the development of vegetal soft capsules development based on Procaps wide and well-known experience developing soft capsules.
