High Performance and reliability – Identification with RAIN RFID
Inventory intelligence is a key challenge for retailers, brand owners, merchandisers and supply chain managers to optimise availability of products for consumers, reduce waste and markdowns and improve operational efficiencies. Companies have broadly adopted RAIN RFID to improve their ability to deliver omnichannel, gain valuabe insights into their supply chain and deliver improved customer experiences.
Traditional RFID tags used today are manufactured with etched aluminium on a layer of PET, introducing unnecessary plastic into hangtags and stickers that historically did only consist of paper.
ECO RFID Tag Technology by Stora Enso is a sustainable, paper-based alternative providing the same level of reliability and performance without the need for PET and avoiding harmful chemicals used in the etching process.
The presentation will provide an overview of different manufacturing technologies for RFID tags, standards used to determine the performance and reliability of RFID tags and briefly explain some of the motivations why retailers and brand owners implement RFID.
